On the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan, a committee headed by Special Assistant Shehzad Qasim was formed to investigate the petrol crisis in the country.
The committee was set up on the orders of the Prime Minister. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Shehzad Qasim will be the chairman of the committee while DG Oil, CEO Petroleum Institute of Pakistan and former senior GMPSO will also join the committee.
The inquiry committee will determine the cause of the recent petrol crisis in the country, review stockpiles by oil companies and petrol pumps, and prepare a report on the steps taken by the Petroleum Division in the oil crisis.
The committee will also review the impact on imports and supply after the reduction in the petrol price, in the light of which the current year’s supply of petrol will be compared with last year’s.
The committee will also look into the possible impact of the Corona situation on the supply of petrol. The committee will review the future course of action with the appointment of those responsible. The committee will submit an investigation report to Prime Minister Imran Khan by July 10.
