IHC rejects exemption plea of Nawaz Sharif’s arrest warrants

The Islamabad High Court ordered the arrest and production of Nawaz Sharif in Azizia and Avenfield references and said that Nawaz Sharif did not deserve bail and relief.

According to details, Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani in the Islamabad High Court heard the appeal against Nawaz Sharif’s sentence in Azizia and Avenfield references. Khawaja Harris appeared on behalf of Nawaz Sharif.

Justice Amir Farooq summoned Khawaja Harris to the rostrum and said that the arguments are heard that the surrender can be heard without a request or not. In the last hearing, the court had not asked to hear the appeals.

During the arguments, Khawaja Harris, referring to various court decisions including the Pervez Musharraf case, said that Nawaz Sharif was declared a fugitive by another court, without hearing Nawaz Sharif was declared a fugitive.

Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif had filed two separate petitions for exemption from appearing in court today, and arguments were sought on his plea to proceed without surrender.

It is believed that the court had ordered Nawaz Sharif to surrender by September 10, but Nawaz Sharif refused to return a day before his appearance and said that he was ill, could not come to Pakistan, and surrender and requested to face trial through a representative.
