The World Bank and Pakistan signed two agreements worth 1.15 billion dollars

The World Bank and Pakistan have signed two investment agreements worth  1.15 billion dollars.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Khusro Bakhtiar, Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan were also present on the occasion.

According to the announcement, two hydropower and renewable energy projects will be completed by the World Bank on soft terms and both energy projects are being implemented in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The new projects will also improve the power supply system and increase renewable energy production, the statement said.

World Bank Country Director Najy Benhassine signed the agreements on behalf of the World Bank while Secretary Economic Affairs Noor Ahmed signed on behalf of Pakistan.
