Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar inaugurated the Orange Train project. Chairman CPEC Authority Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa and Chinese Ambassador also attended the inauguration ceremony of the Orange Line Metro Train.
The Punjab government has fixed a one-way fare of Rs 40 for the Orange Line Metro train. After the opening ceremony, citizens will be able to travel in the Orange Train from October 26. The train will run from 7.30 am to 8.30 pm.
Experts from China trained Pakistani drivers to operate the train, while the task of cleaning the train was entrusted to Lahore Waste Management Company. The electric train will be supplied with electricity by 8 grid stations and initially, the train will run for 12 hours. Sources said that the operation time of the train is planned to be increased to 16 hours in the future.
The track of the Orange train is 27.1 km long and consists of 26 stations. Cameras are installed on all the tracks of the train and inside the train.
